VO2 max Testing Time Again

One sign of the approaching ski season is fall lab testing. Come mid-Sept., most of us jump back on the treadmill (with poles) to re-calibrate our heart-rate training zones to make sure that we are doing our workouts correctly. In many ways this is very necessary–train too hard too much and you’ll end up beat up, burnt out, or sick. Lessons on Navigating a Scree Field

I headed up into the Cascades last week, looking for an interesting run/hike to get some volume in. Since I had the time (no team interval session or work), I got out of town to do a workout. Well, not too far since I hate driving. I ended up at the Todd Lake trailhead plotting out a route that involved Broken Top, Broken Hand and the trail went off the edge of my map there so I was hoping that I could somehow loop-traverse back. Intensity Week + Important Message = Must Read

I’ll get the ”message” out of the way first since it’s more important than any regular post:  Marieka and I are getting married!  I proposed two nights ago and (thankfully) she said yes, so I’m now engaged. Awesome, huh?  Now you can all say, “it’s about time” or some such thing.  No wedding date yet but probably late next summer… (more…)
